Today's review is by himself:

With this product Nivea have sought to simplify things for men. There a lot of guys out there who won't bother even buying one moisturizer so Nivea have decided to make a 3 in 1.  As the name suggests you can use this bad boy to moisturize face, body and hands. Seriously though, while it does well as hand and body cream it is a bit to heavy to use on the face. The other issue is that the 75ml provided isn't really enough if you are going to be using this as a face, body and hand cream.

  • Nice manly smell, seriously I really like the smell
  • Leaves hands and body feeling nice and soft
  • Small packaging makes it easy to carry around, great for the winter.

  • Too heavy to use on the face
  • Not enough cream to use as a body moisturizer
  • Tends to spill when taking off the lid

Conclusion: Would make a decent stocking filter, but don't rush to throw out the facial moisturizer just yet

Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NW20

Hey Everyone!

I first tried this foundation about 5 years ago when I got my makeup done for the first time in Brown Thomas, Dublin. I bought Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NW20 and this was my first high end foundation. 5 years on and I'm still using it, that has to say something right?

The product comes in a black box and is in a glass bottle. Unfortunately, it does not come with a pump with is inconvenient. The screw on lid can be quite messy and awkward to use. Mac sell a pump for around €5 extra. In my opinion, Mac should sell this foundation with a pump.

Product Description and application

This product is available from the MAC website or from your nearest MAC counter In Ireland it costs around €31. It contains 30ml of product which is standard for foundations.
This foundation has a medium to full coverage and is definitely buildable. I apply it with a flat foundation brush for a full coverage look. It applies quite smoothly and is easy to blend into the skin. It sets to a semi matte finish. The staying power is amazing. It would last me the whole day and night. I have oily skin so I would need to apply powder to touch up after 3-4 hours, which is pretty decent! For me, it's not cakey even though it has a medium/full coverage. For someone with dry skin, this may not be the foundation for you, it all depends on the person.

I have to admit, I am not a fan of the scent of the foundation. But I ignore it and the smell fades as the foundation sets.

The bottom line...

I love this foundation to wear on a night out/special occasion when I need extra coverage and long lasting power. I don't use this as my everyday foundation because personally, it's too heavy for me. I would highly recommend getting a sample of this foundation in different possible shades that would suit you before you purchase this.

  • Medium/full coverage
  • long lasting
  • smooth finish
  • does't feel too heavy on the skin
  • great for oily skin and normal skin types
  • large shade range
  • Expensive
  • Might not be good for dry skin
  • Unpleasant scent
  • No pump

My Rating: 4/5

Has anyone tried this product before or would like to try it?

Giorgio Armani's latest release is the new Ecstasy Lacquer. Canadian actress Sarah Gadon, whose clear complexion and classic features is an example of contemporary beauty, she is the face of ECSTASY LACQUER. She will embody the new make-up products in the second half of 2015.

The beauty world seems to be obsessed with matte lip colours at the moment, but I prefer a more glossy and shiny finish to the lips. Ecstasy Lacquer has a beautiful glossy finish that is highly pigmented. It feels comfortable and moisturizing on the lips with great staying power, without that sticky, annoying texture.
The Ecstasy Lacquer can be worn two ways: a lip stain or a gloss. It is a long-wear lip colour of buildable intensity and shine for a gloss or metallic effect (depending on the shade).

There are ten intense lacquered shades:

- N°201 leather

- N°400 four hundred

- N°401 red chrome

- N°402 red-to-go

- N°300 tangerine

- N°501 uptown

- N°505 crescendo

- N°601 plum vinyl

- N°602 vertigo

- N°603 night viper

and eight metallic shades with pearl finishes and surprising shimmers:

- N°200 night berry

- N°302 amber

- N°500 vintage

- N°502 boudoir

- N°503 fatale

- N°504 pink-out

- N°506 maharajah

- N°600 adrénaline

Shades 200, 201, 300

Shades 302, 400, 401

 Shades 402, 500, 501

Shades 502, 503, 504

Here I'm wearing the shade 200 Night Berry, a perfect shade for the Winter season.

ECSTASY LACQUER (RRP €31.50) will be available exclusively at Brown Thomas Dublin, Cork & Limerick or from the 28th of October

18 ways to use Coconut Oil: VITA COCO

Coconut oil is becoming increasingly popular as a healthy, multipurpose oil. I thought I'd share with you some interesting ways to use coconut oil. You really get what you pay for when it comes to coconut oil. Spending a little more an a good quality oil such as Vita Coco Coconut Oil* can make all the difference.

  1. Cooking: This is an obvious one, but coconut oil is far more healthy to use for cooking instead of other oils.
  2. Use it instead of butter: I use it for baking, frying, on toast, popping popcorn, anything I can think of.
  3. Use in salad dressings: I use coconut oil instead of olive oil
  4. Eat a spoonful: Coconut oil is a healthy fat and will make your skin glow.
  5. Eye makeup remover: I have been using this to remove my makeup and I feel it is working better than any other makeup remover I've tried. I massage the oil into my face to break up the makeup and then remove with a cotton pad. This works great on waterproof makeup too!
  6. Cuticle Oil: Massage some oil into your cuticles to moisturize dry skin
  7. Hand and Body Lotion: It smells delicious and gives a beautiful glow to the skin.
  8. Facial cleanser and moisturiser: Coconut oil is great for dry skin an gives your skin some extra moisture. I don't use it too often on my face as I have oily skin.
  9. Eyelash growth serum: Coconut oil nourishes your eyelashes and promotes growth. Apply a tiny amount to a cotton bud and massage into the eyelashes each night.
  10. Use instead of a shaving cream: It costs less per use and will leave your legs silky smooth.
  11. Leave in hair conditioner: Coconut oil is solid at room temperature, so I leave my coconut oil beside the radiator for a new minutes to melt the oil. Then apply a generous amount to the hair and brush it through. Leave in the hair for a few hours. It will quite super oily in your hair but after you wash your hair it will be silky smooth. Sometimes I even leave the oil in my hair overnight.
  12. Hair Serum: I also use a tiny amount of oil through the ends of my hair after blow drying to tame fly always and to give the hair more shine.
  13. Daily Exfoliator: Mix some coconut oil with a little sugar and scrub scrub scrub!
  14. Cheekbone Highlighter: You can add a tiny amount to the tops of your cheekbones to give an extra glow to your skin. I usually do this when I' not wearing any makeup and the oil will dissolve any makeup underneath.
  15. Lip Balm: perfect for chapped lips.
  16. Lip Scrub: You can also add some sugar and use as a lip scrub.
  17. Massage Oil: I love the scent of coconut oil and it's not too greasy
  18. Aftersun lotion: A great moisturizer to use on sunburn.

What do you use coconut oil for?
